  • If you don't know how to access the Registry then you shouldn't even mess around in it! Delete the wrong thing and your PC could be messed up worse than it is now!

I would suggest downloading Malwarebytes Anti-Malware software and run it in safe mode first!

That will most likely fix the problem you currently have in a much safer way.

    Link below.

  • Make sure you have an antivirus first of all like AVG from http://free.avg.com/ or anything similar, preferably run it once in Safe Mode just to make sure. This will keep your computer protected but get an antimalware as well.

Try to install and scan with Spybot S&D or Malwarebytes Anti-malware to remove any malware pests. Both have an IP blocker option and real-time protection (free in Spybot, available only in the full version of Malwarebytes), which is good at preventing the problem before it happens. I for one use full MBAM (someone here answered another question recommending Malwarebytes coupon codes shared by other users on http://news.dtcdeals.com/malwarebytes-coupon-code to save on the purchase) I prefer it since it has a scheduler to run scans and upgrades by itself.

This should help sort out the problem and I wish you all the best but if not you'll need a fresh install and to restore from back up so good luck! :)

  • To access your registry, go to the Start icon -> Search all programs and files , and type in "regedit" (DO NOT TYPE IN THE QUOTES). This is the Windows Registry Editor. Don't delete random things inside here. You may want to backup your computer before, or use windows restore.

You can also download a little program called "Ccleaner" It cleans your computer and your registry. Go to "Registry" on the side bar after downloading and installing. I use it too. No viruses and what-not.

    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner - that's the site.

  • Hold the Windows key (the key with the Windows logo on it) and press R. Type regedit.exe and hit Enter. The Registry Editor comes up and you can search for anything within it.

BE WARNED: Any editing of the registry has the ability to mess up your operating system completely and may require a reformatting of your hard drive!

  • I echo the sentiments of the other users, stay away from the windows registry, even with instructions. If you do not want to download and run an anti virus/ anti malware program yourself, take your computer to a repair shop where they can do that for you.

  • sounds like the cleanser took out more beneficial than it would have. Press the homestead windows key to elevate your commence menu, below upload-ons, go into device approaches, and discover device fix. it is going to with any success elevate a calendar with "fix factors" on it. A "fix factor" is only a replica of the registry and different severe device information that homestead windows needs. because it change right into a "registry cleanser" that brought with reference to the project, restoring the registry decrease back to the basically proper kept version formerly the cleanser change into run might want to verify the project. you received't lose any files with information from doing this. in case you install any new classes between the time of the fix factor and now, you would possibly want to reinstall that software. even though it rather is a minor project if this resolves the project. interior the destiny, formerly operating something like a registry cleanser, you would possibly want to always create a fix think about order that if it is going incorrect, you could go back the laptop to the position it change into formerly you probably did the freshen up.

  • Click START then Run and enter REGEDIT to open the registry editor

There are several free windows registry editors available which may be more useful for you.

  • Instead of editing your registry which could screw up your system even more I'd suggest trying to use an anti-virus and scanning for it.

Microsoft has a very good FREE anti-virus out right now called security essentials, you may wish to try out using that first.

  • If you asking a question like that then you have no business being in there in the first place!

    KEEP OUT of it.

You go in there messing about you will very quickly make your computer unbootable.

There are plenty of free Registry Cleaners about like CCleaner.

  • i would not advise going into the registry but you could download Bit defender they let you use a free scan that gets rid of things like that for you.
