My leopard gecko has a cataract-like film over his eyes.?
My brother has had his leopard gecko, Izzy, for about two years now, so he is still fairly young. He has never had any problems regarding health, shedding, etc. until recently. A few months ago (around September or so), he had stopped eating completely. He still has not eaten a thing, but has not lost any weight whatsoever. His tail is still full of fat and he is still as active as normal. Also, he had developed a slimy film over both of his eyes. We began to wipe his eyes with a warm cloth every time it came back, but about a month ago, the film on his right eye had become crusted over and we are unsure of what to do in this situation. There are no veterinarians around my area that are able to treat reptiles, so if anybody has had a similar problem with their gecko, or any of their reptiles for that matter, please let me know what you did in the situation. Thank you so much.
Update:Also, his poop has both white and brown portions, which show that he is internally healthy, so I am just thinking it is something to do with a shed gone wrong.
Update 3:I have tried rinsing his eye, and nothing comes out. When I wiped the left eye the film partially came out, but the right eye is so crusted over I cannot even wipe any of it. Yes, the shedding can tell me why the film may be over his eyes, but it doesn't explain why he is not eating. I will join that site though, thank you.

You could also try looking for an animal rescue centre for advice if there are no local vets around, they more than often deal with the wierd and wonderful side of pets.or maybe a pet shop?
add where abouts you live and maybe someone can find a place for you to go to for help.
Have you tried lightly rinsing the eye to see if theirs anything foreign which may be trapped that you cannot see? The difficult thing is that it sounds like you need a vet, but since you do not have one local to you that creates a bit of a predicament. If you do not find a solution pls join http://www.leopardgeckoz.com/ their should be some people their that can help you.
Some times they wont shed completely and it will leave a film over their eyes. For this problem you can soak him in a warm bath and it should come off if its just skin. If your really worried about it take him to a vet. Good Luck
What kind of bedding are you using? If its sand or soil then that could be getting into his eye. Or maybe he has had a calcium deficiency lately so hes not shedding correctly.
i dont kno much about reptiles atall..but i imagine if its gone off its food tht it is in someway ill or not comfortable..may be going blind.. id advise taking it to the vets..even if it means traveling a bit
