Is [email protected] a legitimate address?

About a week ago, I received an email from "paypal" saying that I had closed my account, and that my name is Margaret Meade. Believing these to be fake, I forwarded the message to [email protected]. Yet after opening that fake email, I got a virus on my computer, and have recently just gotten rid of it.

Later on, I received an email back from [email protected] saying that, yes, indeed those were fake emails. But I don't even know if that email was legitimate. I opened it on a school computer, since I figured it'd be safer to open on a public computer than my own.

Now I've received an email from [email protected].

Should I open this email? Is this a real address? I haven't opened it yet; it is still just there in my inbox.

I never know when I actually receive a legitimate email from PayPal anymore. So frustrating.

I think I've used PayPal once to buy a textbook.

What should I do?

Thank you for your help!

Update:

Well now I've moved the email to my Spam folder. Should I just block anything from @paypal.com in general? I am seriously so tired of dealing with Spam mail. Ah but aren't we all.
