  • Yes it's real. In fact in my opinion the greatest state in the U.S. Arlington, Texas is home to the Superbowl this year, and Texas also has some of the greatest cities in the U.S. including San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston. There's lots to do and the people here are great and friendly. It's not anything like you see in the movies. Yeah we are a little more country than other places and yes we have a bigger than normal ego, but for good reason.

  • Yes it is a real place but it's not all about cowboys anymore, it's just as modern as other U.S. states. The major cities of Texas include:

    Houston

    San Antonio

    Dallas

    Fort Worth

    Corpus Christi

If you would ever like to come to Texas to see cowboys of any kind, you would have to fly in to San Antonio & travel to the small town of Bandera TX ("the cowboy capitol of the world"), or Fly to the Dallas-Fort Worth metro-plex & visit the Fort worth stock yards.

I was born in Texas & still live here, It's a great place to visit if you ever come to the U.S.

  • Yeah, Texas is a lot of real places.

It's the dense woodlands along the Louisiana border.

It's the evil, oil-soaked desert of Odessa.

It's the endless prairies of Lubbock and Amarillo.

It's the traditional downtown of San Antonio and the full-fledged metropolis of Dallas/Fort Worth. It's the boomtown of Houston.

It's a lot of wild places like Eagle Pass and El Paso along the Rio Grande.

    It's the Hill Country.

It's a lot of small farming communities and big cities and traditional towns and ghost towns and beaches. It's a lot of military bases and a lot of places that were once full of military, like Marfa, the last U.S. Cavalry Post that is now an artist's colony. It's towns that hold German festivals and Mexican festivals and rattlesnake roundups and more rodeos than you can shake a stick at. Texas is a big place and it's great.

    Texas has everything but skiing.

  • Wouldn't you think I had a poor education if I asked if England or France or Italy was a "real place"?

Don't they teach geography in Europe? Texas is absolutely a real place. It was said by Maxxmore, who answered your question that it's the largest state, but it isn't, Alaska is the largest. Texas is second largest. Texas has mountains, prairies, woodlands and beaches. It has some of the largest cities in America, and it has ranches with over 1/2 million acres each. It has a lot of oil wells and it has rodeos. We have chicken fried steak, chili, fried okra, black eyed peas, cornbread, banana pudding and sweet iced tea. Most important it has friendly people, some of whom are cowboys.

Some, like me, are lucky enough to call it home.

  • Yes Texas is a real place its the best place!

  • Yes Texas is not only a real place but its also the biggest state of all america it was apart of mexico until 1848 when the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848 ceded Texas (with the Rio Grande boundary), California, and New Mexico to the United States, which agreed to pay Mexico $15 million. I hope that in Europe you stop watching old western movies and watch more updated movies and t.v shows ones with Jamie fox, Tommy lee Johns, Forest Whitaker, Renee Zellweger, Debbie Allen, Powers Boothe, Betty Buckley, Carol Burnett, Gary Busey, Kate Capshaw, Cyd Charisse, Dabney Coleman, Barry Corbin, Linda Darnell, Sandy Duncan, Shelley Duvall, Morgan Fairchild, Farrah Fawcett, Larry Hagman, Angie Harmon, Woody Harrelson, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Kris Kristofferson, Eva Longoria, Matthew McConaughey, Annette O'Toole, Bill Paxton, Mary Kay Place, Dennis Quaid, Debbie Reynolds, Ann Sheridan, Jaclyn Smith, Patrick Swayze, Rip Torn, JoBeth Williams, and Owen Wilson among others who are all Texans.

  • Haha no worries :) I live in Texas, but please let me tell you, the wild wild west image you have about texas is not entirely true. yes, some parts of texas still are rural, however there are many very urbanized areas, like the city of dallas. that is a very big city :) Don't be fooled by movies, its just like if I were to say that all europeans have bad teeth and drink tea every day and that whole thing. they are just stereotypes :/

  • Since I have only seen Europe on a map, and not in real life, I will have to assume that europe is fake.

Um, dumbass, you do have access to a map, right? If so, you can use Google maps and see a map of texas. If you can see it is on a map, you can see the sattelite photo of it, and too see that it is real...

With the wealth of information on the internet, you cant google this and see for yourself? you waste 5 points to ask a stupid question.

I wondered if we were smarter than europeans, and you just proved me right.

  • I'm Australian and I even know that Texas is a state.

  • yes texas is real :) but its just an image not d real thing....
