Why do companies care if you do drugs?
Like as long as it doesn't affect your work performance or appearance, why does it matter what employees do with their own lives? Like you have to pass tests to get jobs and stuff...

Insurance costs are lower if the company is drug free. Not only that - just because you "do it on your own time" does not mean it doesn't affect performance.
It gives them more power over you; it gives them the option to get rid of you on a whim if they don't like your face. It's got nothing to do with drugs, there are a lot of people on medication that affects their concentration but they don't get fired, and there are no end of alcoholics who drink before, during and after work but never get canned.
Same reason Republicans try to pass laws the employer is in charge of what you are allowed to do, including healthcare down to a blood test.
Chinese work camps can be created here in the US if the employers are your masters and only corporations can vote.
because it looks better for the company if they only higher people that are classy and more work oriented. they don't want some stonner working for them. and they don't want to take chances, what if the guy comes to work high? like that wouldn't be good for anyone. so yeaaa...
people on drugs are much more likely to have an accident.
