  • Yes you do need a passport and depending on your country of origin you might also need a visa.

  • Of course you need a passport to travel to Canada and, depending on what country you are a citizen of, a visa as well. It makes no difference where in Canada. Why would you think otherwise?

Also, when you ask a question it is impolite to type it in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS as that is seen as shouting at someone.

BTW, it's "Edmonton, Alberta" not "edmonton alberto"

  • You need a passport to enter Canada by plane (and by land and water) and possibly a Visa also (depending where you are coming from).

If you are flying from Halifax NS to Vancouver BC, then you don't need a passport.

  • Yes, you absolutely must have a passport to enter Canada.

  • To go to Canada from where, the U.S.?

What's your legal status in the U.S., are you a Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder)?

Well, I usually better like to give answers than to ask questions; however if you can answer both above questions with "yes" you won't need a passport to go to Canada from the United States as Green Card holder.

On the US DHS website you can read:

" For information about what documents are required for a U.S. permanent resident to enter a foreign country, we advise you to contact the embassy or consulate general of the country you intend to travel to in order to find out what documents they require you to have for entry. It is important to understand that some Western Hemisphere countries require you to have a passport for entry into their country, even though the U.S. does not require you to have one to re-enter the U.S."

When you check the website of the Canada Border Service Agency you can read:

" Permanent residents of the United States may travel to Canada from the United States or Saint-Pierre and Miquelon without passports, travel documents or visas provided they produce satisfactory evidence of their identify and status. "

Living in any other country you will need a passport and a visa for Canada as citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
