How much does a new ac system cost for a car?

its a 2003 ford taurus. already has a ac compressor in it but the bypass pulley is old and rusted and it was fixed before but they said it would be best to get a new ac system... it blows out hot air and when its cold outside it still blows out hot air if thats helps

You FAIL to mention basic, critical facts such as YEAR, MAKE, and MODEL; and your feeble question is far too vague to be answered. What do you mean by a "new" system??? Do you mean installing air conditioning in a car that didn't have A/C in the first place?? Figure $2,000 to $4,000 depending on the car - IF it's possible.
Or do you mean simply repairing a non-functional (but existing) "system"?? Even "system" is far too vague a term, There are dozens or hundreds of components that make up the "system" and it would be impossible for all of them to need replacement. But if you do mean "repair", then the answer is between 10 cents and three thousand dollars.
