crysis 2 unsuporrted video card detected... wtf?

ok just got this game a few days ago i've been playing it on extreme (highest) settings.. works fine no problems no lags no glitch. my computer is like a 9800 GT or some **** like that idk. all i DO know is that it plays the game all up till no i re-downloaded it and nothing still stupid message.. please help dont want to feel like i just wasted money on this.. and dont tell me to get a new video card cause this computer is like 1-2 years old built just for gaming and the fact that i already played the game proves that the card can handle it

Update:

i pretty sure my card isnt messed up or damage.. see my friend had this problem and i tried to help him and i told him to download something to update his drivers so he did. and i thought wth ill download it too so i did. awhile later i thought "whatever i downloaded i dont need it ill delete it" so i did and after that it doesnt work and i get the message

  • even though u played it on your card, maybe just maybe you overheated the gpu. maybe the card is a bit slow because that is a really old card by now. Just a suggestion, time to upgrade to a new card, if your a budget gamer like me, get something in the Geforce 200 or 400 series.

  • Yes - I think your card is having trouble running this game. Don't know why all the sudden but likely something to do with the download pushed it over the edge. The GeForce 9800 GT is not a bad card, but its not a new card either (it is the updated version of the 8800GT - a classic gaming card). Back in the day it was the shiznitz, but not now, and Crysis 2 is a pretty demanding game. Yes it is possible that the game loaded up and ran initially but it is now just gonna glitch out.

Have you tried lowering the settings to high or very high instead of extreme?

Otherwise you're prob SOL bro sorry. (I assume you've downloaded the latest drivers for the card).

If you're gonna get a new card look at the Radeon HD 5870. It crushes that game on extreme.
