How multicultural is China?

It seems pretty, well, Chinese.

  • The Chinese promote multiculturalism by moving thousands of Han Chinese into the areas of other ethnic groups.

  • As multicultural as the chinese government wants it

    Not multicultural

  • There are several ethnic groups. Han Chinese are the vast majority, but China's a big place. Japan is less diverse..

  • You really don't know China do you? There are thousands of dialects and cultures, just within China. To the west, Arabic is the common language, to the north, it's Russian. China is so diverse it isn't even funny.

  • They'll probably hoist me away in the middle of the night for saying this--It's not. All of the ethnic minority stays in their region. They may label you as "Han Chinese" or whatever ethnic minorities you are on all the official documents, but there's really no interaction and understanding of different ethnic cultures. To them, it's just China vs. foreigners...

  • In brief, there are 56 ethnic groups in China, they all have their own culture.

There is also a cultural fusion through the history.

  • not multicultural in the same way that america is. how many blacks are there in china (which has a population of 1.5 billion people)??? virtually none.

  • Like all liberal countries there very multicultural.
