Program remote to TiVo box?

I have a DirecTv TiVo box and the original black peanut remote recently stopped working. My parents had an extra RC64R remote for their newer verison.. the DirecTv DVRs so i've been trying to program that remote to my TiVo box. Is this even possible? I have tried the mute/select for 5 seconds and it flashed green twice then i triend 00001 and 00002 and nothing... also its not programmed to my tv but i assume thats after. please help

    Those codes are for the recent DirecTV DVRs. You want DirecTV TiVo DVR codes, which should be in the code list for that remote.

    you likely can yet you quite choose a tivo distant. maximum remotes will be cloned yet i have not considered one which does each and every thing the unique you should do. solidarity makes a fantastic widespread distant that would artwork yet plan on spending a minimum of $100 and fifty or more desirable
