Citizen's police academy?
I want to be a police officer, will taking a Citizen's Police Academy course:
-give me more insight into the career?
-will it have any (positive) effect on my resume when applying for a job with a police department? In other words, will the police department who's receiving my application take it into consideration, or does it not really mean anything at all?
-random: are there any good internship or volunteer things I can get into that will look good on my resume? I've already done a ride along. I'm in northwest Indiana (about an hour from Chicago)
Update:As far as my experience, I have one ride along with a police department, and an internship with PETA (which had nothing to do with law enforcement, it was for grassroots campaigning. I did the internship before I knew I wanted to be a police officer.)
