What is a "cloud data center"?

I heard Google is building new "cloud data centers" in the news.

I googled the term, but I didn't get a straight answer.

Anyone knows? Thanks.

  • 'The Cloud' is a way to store data where it's not located in any specific place, but spread out all over the world so ensure that it's always available, always quick to get and will never fail and lose the data.

  • A data center is usually a heap of computers interconnected in some way. A cloud data center is a data center serving a cloud model, for instance a data center used to implement Gmail, Google Docs, or some other cloud-centric set of services.

  • Hey guys,

It is when lots of computers are conected in some way like Docs for google, also there is a differend way , and this is when you establish a data center yourself like cloudautomationsolutionand then you can either create or use someone elses.

    Cheers.

  • A data center is made up of numerous data servers housed in the same complex. Like computers, servers require certain environmental conditions, such as moderate levels of heat and humidity, as well as network connections to access the Internet.
