Can I keep a domestic silver fox as a pet in BC, Canada?

So, we've been doing some research on these amazing siberian foxes that have been domesticated since 1959 in Russia, and we would like to purchase one, but I'm having trouble finding anything online about whether or not we can have them as a house pet in British Columbia. They are domesticated, cost about $8,000, come with papers, etc. As far as we can see, they are just another type of canine and love humans. These foxes have many characteristics of dogs, such as flopping ears, and were bred to be very gentle and loving. You can check out information here:

Can anyone let me know if this is possible, and if not, why?

It is illegal under the BC Wildlife Act. Exotic animals can only be kept by license breeding farms, zoos, and rehabilitation centers. Such centers must be licensed and in appropriately zooned and inspected facilities. Animals from outside the province may not be imported except by zoos.
