  • A pro carpet cleaner may be able to help with this stain if you haven't messed with it. The food grade dyes in the drink have dyed the carpet fibers. The pro's have access to a product from Pro Chem called Red Relief, it is used with a damp terry cloth and a steam iron. When the dye has lifted into the terry cloth towel, the entire area is rinsed and vacuum extracted to remove the solutions from the carpet. To locate a pro near you, go to www.iicrc.org.

  • Rent a steam/water extraction machine. Vacuum the area completely first when dry, then pour some cold water on the area and immediately vacuum up with the machine. NO CARPET SOAP! Repeat 2-3 more times. Now do the same with somewhat hot water. Then put some white vinegar in the hot water (1 cup for a gallon). Pour on, vacuum up with the extractor. Repeat 3 times. Rinse the area 3 times with warm water to get all the vinegar out. Lastly, take some Vanish non chlorine bleach powder (or Chlorox-2 or Biz or Oxyclean) and disolve it in some semi-hot water. Pour this on remaining stain shadow and watch it dissappear. Repeat if necessary but always be ready to vacuum out the area when the stain is gone. Rinse again with cool water 3 times. Lay down cotton towels after all this and walk on them. Repeat with other clean towels. Let air dry with a fan blowing on the area.

  • This may sound weird but pickle juice can remove any stain. Pour a normall sized jar of pickle juice on the stain let sit for an hour then rub the carpet fairly hard. The stain should come right out.

When you first pour the pickle juice on it may look worse. Don't worry it's only temperary. Just leave it alone for and scrub it it will come out. If it doesn't work at first try it again and again. Sometimes the juice looks like its staining the carpet but when you do it again its gone.

  • Use Resolve Carpet Spray

  • Red dyed food and drink is the hardest. You need a pro to take care of this. There is no "consumer" product capable of doing this.
