Does atomic partical matter exist?
If it does, what is it made of. It cannot be made of any material we know of as that is made of atoms. These particles they are experimenting on have mass and energy but no substance. If the smallest part has no substance then the matter we are made of has no substance. That makes all matter just energy and mass with no interchange needed. Can anyone sort this out please or we don't really exist. Come back God theory.
Update:I imagined shrinking down to less than an atom and flying after an electron, then putting my hand into it and finding nothing there. I am old now and my intellect is not as good as it was, that is why I asked for a bit of help.

At the most basic level, everything is made of energy
Matter and energy are 2 forms of the same thing
Energy is the bricks
Matter is the building
E=Mc^2 tells us how many bricks (units of energy) it takes to build a building (matter) of a given size (mass - units of matter)

Something does not come from nothing. There must be a first cause, already existed or there wouldn't be nothing in existance now. Do we live in chaos? No we live in Cosmos. The universe is energy, material rich, material elements were created from energy. Energy is arranged in a system of order, which you can study in physics & chemistry. Energy is arranged to form more than 100 elements. Why? Because they are useful & essential and necessary for life. Cosmos means, Order, arrangement, harmony which implies intelligence. Big bang? Explosions? No, explosions produce disorder, chaos. "For every house is built by someone, but the Builder of all things is God. Hebrews 3:4 You are more than a material thing, you think, you agrue, you know right from wrong. Your self-aware and have free will. You feel love, & trust, kindness, mercy, pity, compassion. These things are beyond the material. They are spiritual. Scientific study are based on theories, assumptions, conjectures, guesses. Fossil records,does not prove evolution, but degeneration & extinction.
Atoms are generally made of types of quark, of which there are 6 "flavours": up, down, top, bottom, strange and charm.
What these are made of it really anyone's guess, but if you follow string theory then they are closed strings (or what we more commonly call "loops").
Also we must exist, we don't not exist because we have no answer for what everything is made of.
In particle physics the thing that gives mass "substance" as you call it is the Higgs Boson or "God particle".
Particle physisists are optimistic it may have been discovered but it's early days to say for sure.

How can anyone answer your question if it is made of a material that no one knows of?
