Yahoo new mail system problems?

Ever since I converted to the new mail system I have been having problems. I've tried to contact Yahoo both by phone and via the commentary box in for the new system. I've not received a response.

The following are the problems I am having:

1. I can't call up the form to compose a new email.

2. I can't open the file for a draft email I am working on.

3. I can't forward any email I've received.

4. In printing an email more than one page the other pages(2,3,4 etc) are in a form of a narrow column of print about an inch wide.

5. I have now found the box to click to MOVE an item has disappeared.

In my investigations I've found that I can use the computer at my local public library without these problems. The exception is the printing problem. Since I have both, I've also tried using Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers. The library uses Internet Explorer.

I'm thinking possibly I'm the victim of bugs in the new system that have to be worked out? Or, am I the victim of a prank virus?

  • To go back to YAHOO! MAIL CLASSIC...

    Turn off Javascript - you'll then be asked if you want to return to Mail Classic, click "yes".

    If you don't know how to turn off Javascript...

    For SAFARI: Open SETTINGS>click PREFERENCES>>click SECURITY>>Uncheck ENABLE JAVA and ENABLE JAVASCRIPT

    IMPORTANT:Remember to RE-ENABLE JAVA and JAVASCRIPTING back ON when you are back in Mail Classic because without it some mail functions won't work.

    For IE: Open TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS >> SECURITY. In security click "CUSTOM LEVEL" -> disable active scripting in the scripting section.

    IMPORTANT:Remember to turn JAVASCRIPTING back ON when you are back in Mail Classic because without it some mail functions won't work.

    For FIREFOX: Open TOOLS -> OPTIONS -> CONTENT, click on "DISABLE JAVASCRIPT". Now hit F5 to refresh the page while you are in Yahoo! email in order to switch back... In the options, click (PERMANENT) to switch back to YAHOO! Classic. DO NOT click the "ONE TIME ONLY" option.

    IMPORTANT: Turn JAVASCRIPT back ON once you have your "CLASSIC" account back.

  • It is not a virus. It is caused by the recent upgrades to the YMail system. Many users are reporting those problems. Notify help.yahoo.com so they have a record. They will fix it.
