BMW 3 Series Coupe, a rip off?
Don't get me wrong, I love the car. But the coupe decently loaded, and Xi is almost 50K after taxes? WTF? The interiors are looking even cheaper now as well. I could get a vette, G37, Audi, etc. The Nissan GTR is like 80K and thats a super car. What gives. A 3 series should be in the mid to upper 30's

Not everybody likes a BMW, specially its price.
But a lot of people like it and for some really good reasons.
If you do not like the price of a new one, then lease it, or buy an older one. Better still, buy a different car and show your
position on the matter. I respect your opinion.
But I doubt that it would matter, for you are obviously not within their target market.
Part of that has to do with how long a company keeps a car before it completely changes it as well as how many of that specific car it sells which all come into factoring how much the parts and development cost per car. Of course, other things happen also; specific brands make more profit and of course, we have a week dollar in Europe right now, which does not help. In alot of cases though, the costs of ownership also have to include depreciation and a limited model will depreciate less (in this case BMW) than a mass produced high volume car (possibly like the Vette or the G series).
I will tell you know. Because they can charge that much. But BMW enthusiasts like us don't give a fart.
Here's what I can tell you. I own, maintain 3 BMWs. I race one of them. Yet none of them is a recent BMW model. BMW does not manufacture cars like they use to. The newer models aren't selling as well. If I want to add another BMW to my collection, it will be the E39 M5. The E60 M5 (current model) is just a plain waste of resources. Who the hell pushes a 500hp, v10 on the road? What's the rational behind that?
1. They recently had a TV ad depicting the E30, E36, E46s and also the whole "cult" following clip showing BMW fans. Fact of the matter is, the cult following does not care too much for the newer BMW models. They are hideous looking to being with. And the cars don't even come with a freaking dip stick.
2. BMW NA has never offered special leasing offers during the holidays for years. But 2007, they placed a TV ad for that. Sign of a slowing sales.
Don't ever get the Xi. BMW's AWD system is a Jurassic technology compared to Subey or Audi. Plus the resale value is horrible.
I also have a 2005 325ci (coupe) and that i bought it qualified pre-owned so i could be waiting to get a number of the maintenance paid for by BMW. i admire the styling of the coupe yet I be apologetic approximately no longer getting the sedan usual. The coupe is particularly small and it quite is confusing for extra advantageous than 3 human beings to experience conveniently. i could advise the sedan surprisingly in case you could have young infants in a while. i'm very pleased with the reward of determining to purchase the motor vehicle qualified pre-owned because of the fact the guaranty replaced into prolonged and while i bought it there replaced into basically 14,000 miles on it. wish this helps!
The GTR won't be 80k when it hits the floors, I guarantee you that. especially with the limited numbers.
You could get a vette, but then the interior would be even worse.
Audi's are great cars, and their interiors have been impressive from the start. Great alternative.
Marketing 101 buddy... price something way more than it's actually worth, people will buy it because it will have "Perceived Value".
Same strategies goes for perfumes, handbags, big city restaurants...etc.
I love BMWs, but I whole heartedly agree that it's getting rediculous to buy and own one.
Perhaps its time to look for other sensible RWD cars.
I recently bought an 08 MX-5 Miata... I LOVE the car. Best of all, it drives well, handles well, sips gas (albeit premium) and agrees with my pocket book so much better!
