peugeot 206 radio code?

How can i get the radio code for my son's peugeot 206? we're having an electrical problem so removed the battery to check it (it's fine) but dont have the code for the radio.

not yet resolved the electrical problem (see other questions) but when we do, it'll need the code.

Any ideas that dont involve asking the manufacturer if I dont have the code??

Update:

It's a 2002, but that additional information on 2nd answer is useful to know as another family member has a newish 307 (presumably the same).

    The radio SERIAL NUMBER is required for a code

    First remove the radio from the dashboard.

    Then post the radio make+model plus all the letters+numbers on any labels,barcodes or stamped in the metal casing.

    This information can then be used to see if a code can be calculated

    The newer 206 does not need a code,its done on the car vin number.Give the age and make and type of system, eg cassette or cd player for a better answer,Hope this helps
