"No one can feel naturally homosexual." True or false?
In regards to what this has to do with religion and spirituality, I've been hearing a lot of commentary that homosexuality is a choice, and a sin.
For the record, I don't entirely agree with the first part of that premise, and I don't at all agree with the second.

Feeling 'natural' about anything is taken to mean feeling comfortable and at ease with... whatever. It's referred to as 'second nature'. There are many people who feel at ease with being homosexual (although few did at the outset). That does not prove it is natural. Some people are totally happy about being liars; we even get the phrase, 'a natural-born liar'. That does not prove it is natural either. It's just that we have become so used to lying that we reckon it's part of being human. Not necessarily so.
Is choosing to be homosexual a sin? Well, here's what a former homosexual wrote: "Sexual sin can be idolatry - it's more important than God - you're saying in effect that your pleasure is more important than his will... God never intended man to repent of sin for repentance's sake alone. The higher purpose has always been to bring us into a better life... You're not called to give up homosexuality just because it's 'bad'. You are invited to a life of wholeness which you cannot attain as long as you hold on to anything that is second-best."
You know I don't think it is a choice. Mainly because a lot of people 'try' really hard not to be attracted to the same sex, but then feel like they are living a lie. So I think that they feel that way naturally. As far as it being a sin, I am not sure. Because a lot of times the bible would consider an enemy lifestyle as sinful. So maybe because homosexuality was common among the Romans and Greeks, the authors of some of the books in the bible said that part of the culture was sinful.
I am gay. And it is very natural for me.
It is the way nature made me.
It is also a very normal part of the animal world where it HELPS in the survival of a species! Note that it can lead to a female having two males to help feed and defend her young!
Sexual orientation is NOT a choice.
I would ask heterosexuals (NOT bi-sexuals) the following: Exacrtly when did YOU CHOOSE to be attracted to the opposite sex?
If honest they MUST answer that they never chose. They just discovered that they were so inclined.
The sin involved is NOT living in a loving committed relationship, but in not allowing all people to be in one
Define natural. Define homosexual. Define feel. Ues all the variations in the meanings. This should keep you occupied until the question is no longer important.
Well considering instances of homosexuality in nature I would say a person could feel natural doing it.
False.
Homosexuality is a perfectly natural phenomenon. It's something that a person is born with, not something chosen later in life.
I've never been able to fully understand why so many people have a problem with it. In and of itself it doesn't threaten anyone or hurt anyone.
False. It is very clearly a result of biology. This has been confirmed with twin studies, experiment with pheromones and analyzing families.
It is likely a combination of environmental and genetic factors.
That is your choice to believe or not believe. I think at one time or another every boy or girl (9 to 12) is attracted to the same sex, everyone I knew at that age has been. Those that ACT or keep DWELLING on those feelings are the ones that end up making the choice of homosexual relationships. They decide they are gay!!
good for you. you have seen the light. .
in order to be a choice one would have to admit to having had feelings of homosexuality that as a straight person they decided to ignore to become straight.
show me one straight christian male who will admit that he has had gay feelings and ignored them. It dosnt work that way you are straight or you are gay or you are in between (BI)
that is how it is
False.
Sounds to me like the speaker is trying to convince himself more than trying to convince anyone else.
folks are born that way. Sheesh.
