Many people are irritable, impulsive, and impatient.
Find patience building exercises.
For impulsiveness, make a rule where you set aside X amount of time before making large decisions or purchases.
For irritability, get better sleep. Eat better. Meditate. Read. Spend more time on relaxing hobbies. Go hiking. Exercise.
Chalking these issues up to ADHD removes your ability to overcome them, because they seem outside of your power. There are many many causes for all 3 of those problems. They're not necessarily due to what you think they are.
"AD/HD" or Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder does not exist as a physically definitive diagnosis in the sense that real diseases and disorders exist such as cancer or heart disease. "AD/HD" is only a descriptive term used to describe a bunch of annoying and sometimes dysfunctional behaviors that some kids (or adults) have. Many of these symptoms are diet and lifestyle-related and can be addressed without drugs. Studies show that the drugs out there for ADHD and ADD don't really work and can have terrible side effects. I've found a couple links for eBook that give effective drug-free solutions for ADHD.
The first is by Dr. Charles Gant. I really liked his info because it is pretty scientific, but he still gives basic instructions as to what you need to do. He also gives more info than you ever wanted on dangers of the various drugs. Just his link is informative. The eBook is $20 with a money back guarantee. http://endadd.reclaimingoptimumhealth.com/
If you don't like all the science mumbo jumbo or the medication-bashing in Gant's info, then there is another Dr. who has treated many patients without drugs with drastic improvement. This one is more expensive but looks very easy to understand. http://adhd-remedy.bestlife123.com/
The last one is by a mother who finally figured it out herself. It's called ADD to C3 Kids (I have no idea what C3 is) and gives daily meal planning and nutritional info. http://www.addtoc3kids.naturesmachine.com./ It may be more practical if you don't want to know the why, just what to do.
Find someone who'll take the time to diagnose him properly. Your school counselor is probably your best source of info, b/c they deal with this all the time. Whatever you do, DON'T let him hear the word ADHD or anything else that will make him feel labeled. He can't help it and he may need either behavioral or medical help. He's too young to have the pressure of being labeled. Even if he goes on meds, he doesn't need to know all the details.
Well there are drugs a doctor can prescribe for this. I am ADHD, it is hard. I do not take anything for it, but took ridellin as a child. Sometimes you just have to relax, and bite your tounge.
First off. There IS such a thing as ADHD stupid. Attention Defasit(spelling) Hyperactive Disorder. Take your medicine. i had it when i was younger and it died down so yeah. Medicine works. don't put it off though
Go to see a psychiatrist and he/she can prescribe some medication to help with the symptoms of ADHD which will help you deal with and live life comfortably with the disorder.
cut back on sugars, sodas, and candies, too. dont do drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, they'll make your irritability impulsiveness and impatience much much worse.
