UK Paramedics advice please?
I am thinking of changing my career and becoming a paramedic. What is the job really like day to day? Do you do the job you wanted or do the politics and paperwork get in the way? Any advice appreciated thanks.

Hi
depends what you expected... there is a lot of paperwork - so if you are expecting just to drive fast on blue lights... help people drive to hospital and hand over - have a coffee and then do the same over again - please think again..
It can take a long time completing the PRF - Patient Report form, for each patient. In the event of finding at risk children and adults there is a lot of admin to do - this is for legal protection. For wok that involves treating people in police custody this can also be significant.
Politics - as a front line medic are minimal - no more than any other front line job..
but it is one of the best jobs in the world..
Me - I only do it part time and as a UK based volunteer!! (wish I could afford the pay cut!)
