do epidurals freak you out?
Listen, I understand these are mostly safe and everything, but a needle in your spine, mere centimeters from your actual spinal column? Like, your central nervous system? And occasionally paralysis or death just because something hurt really bad? I mean, that's scary. I want Stadol! How do you feel about getting one?

I had an epidural and it went totally fine! i was having alot of back labor and my blood pressure was way too high, so the epidural made my bloodpressure normal and i was for the most part pain-free when it came to contractions. I was pretty sore for a few days where it was put in but that is it.
honestly I was in so much pain from my contractions I wouldn't have cared if they had to insert a needle in my eye to make the pain go away. I was having 5 minute apart contractions for 4 days before they would give me an epidural and start pitocin b/c I wasn't progressing. I thought about having an epidural if I wasn't in labor and would probably be so freaked out I couldn't do it but when your in that much pain you don't care. I didn't even feel it. I had not one but 2 epidurals and a spinal. I didn't have an ideal labor and delivery but it was well worth it!! GOOD LUCK!!
Out of my 3 pregnancies I have done all -
My 1st was a natural labor that ended in an emergency c-section
My 2nd was I got the epidrual at 7cm
My 3rd came too fast for anything
I would do another epidural hands down - but that's just ME
the needle is long but it dont hurt too bad more like a mosiqtoe bite death is very very rare with epidural
i am terrified of needles, just getting a normal one brings me to tears at the thought of it...and i still got an epidural with my first and am definitely thinking about getting it again with this baby
I dont even want it.. my mom has had back pain ever since.. same with my auntie's. I'd rather go through the horrible pain of labor... than risking life time of back pain.
