Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was a skillful and courageous political leader.
In Madinah he established a state where all people were equal, where matters were decided through consultation, and where all people had to follow the same law. It was a state without any favoritism in favor of any family or group. Even a non-Muslim was not to be mistreated under his rule. The story of Tu’mah ibn Abraq is an excellent example of justice and human rights for all people under his authority. Tu’mah, who was a Muslim, stole someone’s armor in Madinah and then he blamed a Jew. Allah sent a special revelation to warn people against such injustice (see Surat An-Nisaa’:110-112). The Jewish citizen of Madinah was declared innocent and Tu’mah was found guilty.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took great care of his people’s religious as well as economic needs. Not only did he preach, but he was also concerned about their economic well-being. He made treaties and alliances with many tribes. He had great diplomatic skills. He taught the world diplomacy that was built on morality and honesty. He honored all his treaties and he defended his people. He was aware of the surrounding circumstances and made his people ready and alert. He never initiated a battle or a war,but when he was attacked he was firm and decisive. He always emphasized peace and harmonious relations.
The Prophet Muhammed pbuh was also a political leader.
The Prophet PBUH instructed Abu bakr r.a. to lead prayers, and this incident is MUTAWATIR (mutaffaqun alaih) in sahih ahadith ,
Abu Bakr (رضّى الله عنه), the first Caliph, was so close to the Prophet (صلّى الله عليه وآله وسلّم) that he gifted his daughter in marriage to the Prophet (صلّى الله عليه وآله وسلّم). Her name was Aisha (رضّى الله عنها), and yet we find that the Shia revile her too. They refer to her as a sinful transgressor, and an enemy of Ahlel Bayt. Would the Prophet (صلّى الله عليه وآله وسلّم) really marry someone who was sinful and impious? This is accusing the Prophet (صلّى الله عليه وآله وسلّم) of sinning and violating the Quran as well as his own sayings. By marrying Abu Bakr’s daughter, the Prophet (صلّى الله عليه وآله وسلّم) showed his undying solidarity with Abu Bakr (رضّى الله عنه), who–other than being the Prophet’s father-in-law–was the Prophet’s best frend and top liuetenant.

There is a man named "Tom Knight". He has read Quran over and over but writes against Islam all the times in this section. Tom Knight has been writing against Islam and Prophet of Islam before I joined this section in 2007. Allah has not guided him though he has read Quran over and over because he doesn't believe on One God. He is unbelkiever and probably will remain unbeliever for ever because he curses on Prophet Mohammad SAW and opposes laws Allah has written in Quran.

Prophet (saw ) was a spiritual and political leader as well.
But His (saw)'s politics was not like the politics of Ahmedinijad, Bashar al Asad, Hosni Mubarak or Nouri al Maliki !!
The Prophet Muhammed pbuh was also a political leader.
