College algebra, word problem?

The power in an electric circuit varies inversely with the resistance. If the power is 2,400watts when the resistance is 10ohms, find the resistance when the power is 600watts.

If the answer is not an integer, enter it as a fraction.

  • Well, leaving aside that the physics is WRONG...

    You ave 1/4 the power, so you must have 4 times the resistance

  • p = k / r ---> k = 24,000 ---> r = k / p...finish it
