How does paypal work?

I would like to buy something on ebay, and I've created a paypal account and all that jazz. Its got my debit card number and stuff. But I was wondering sense I'm new to it all..

It says "paypal balance" is 00.00. do I have to transfer money from my debit card somehow into paypal?

Does paypal charge interest on my purchases?

and one last thing...I'm actually only 16 (it is my debit card though) but I lied and put that I was 18 so I could make an account. I've done this before on other sites but never stuff dealing with money. could i get in HUGE trouble with that? If someone somehow found out? thanks!

  • Since your debit card is linked to your paypal account, when you make a purchase it will charge your debit card. No interest will be payed.

You can have a paypal at any age...doesnt matter. I had one when I was 16 also...

  • I dont know if you get in trouble about your age but I know how to buy stuff in ebay using pay pal. First find the item you like then once you purchase the item it will take you to pay pal. From pay pal it will tell how will you pay, choose your method which in your case your debit card. Check the total that is ok then you press pay the balance and your part is done. No they dont charge interest if you pay with pay pal they charge your debit card only for the amount your gonna pay the item for and the shipping cost but if you sell and receive payment to your pay pal account then they do charge a small fee but thats it. Good Luck

  • paypal is good for buy something on Internet, I always use paypal for pay on Internet, paypal charge me little every year, you can use paypal if you have VISA card.

  • it all comes from your card and pays straight to your card, paypal basically just gives you buyer protection
