  • My first labour was 22 hours long. I had an epidural because I can only stand so much pain. I accidentally assaulted a couple of medical staff because I was kicking and screaming so much.

I had my second baby at home without any pain relief whatsoever. The labour lasted 12 painful hours.

If I had to go through either one again, it would probably be the second one, mainly because I managed to get baby out without the help of forceps. Forceps makes for an extremely painful stitch line for a long time afterwards.

I think that epidurals are associated with a higher risk of forceps delivery. Apart from that, if you want a totally pain free labour, I'd recommend one.

ETA: Don't waste your time or money on quackery like homeopathy.

  • I had an Epidural ... great if you don't want to feel any pain - bad if you want things to go fast. As soon as I had the Epidural my contractions and labor slowed waaaayyyy down - the doctor said if I didn't have an Epidural I could have had her within the hour - instead it took from 2am to 11:30am for me to deliver.

Haven't had a child since - and even if I did ... I'd probably go for the Epidural again ... lol ... that sh*t hurt like no other feeling in my back ever. So uncomfortable.

  • Ok. The World Heald Organization and the Pan American Health Organization have centered higher limits to the appropriate quantity of c-sections in realition to populace density. That's seeing that it comes with so much greater dangers of headaches in the course of the beginning paintings or after it. Mother mortality premiums are tremendously correlated with total c-sections quantities. And as any individual already mentioned, the recovey time it is for much longer and painful that the typical approach. Think approximately this: epidural pictures are NOT made mainly for this. Neither the horizontal type of the beginning paintings. The latter was once designed to make it less difficult to phisicians, no to the mummy. C sections also are extra highly-priced. That' of direction, will have to be protected through your protection, however a medical professional earns more cash from this process besides, and she or he could make as much as 20 c-sections an afternoon, rather of two to three typical births.

  • Natural. The pain may be terrible but the pain that can last for a lifetime because of some epidurals can be 10 times worse!....

  • I had side effects from the epidural medication so I have to say that natural is best. I had two natural childbirth and I used hypnobirthing and homeopathic medicine to get through and It was a wonderful experience.
