Depends on your MacBook. If it's an older MacBook, and if it's running a G4 processor, it might not be able to handle Leopard. Make sure ALL the specs meet the minimum requirements for Leopard. You can find what the specs are on your Mac by going to the Apple logo in the upper left hand corner of the screen and clicking on About This Mac it will give you the version of the OS you are running, the Processor, and the Memory (RAM) installed on the machine. Click on the More Info button to get more details. Then once you have the info, check that against the minimum system requirements for installing Leopard.

Check My System Specs
Click on the "Blue Apple Icon" in the top left corner of your screen.
Then, choose "About This Mac".
Then, click on "More Info..."
