  • Put on thick leather gloves and do what you need to do. Make sure you are calm and confident. You don't want to seem anxious or worried.

  • You mean calm down. As for what the dog is doing, it's a perfectly normal behavior that she's expressing here. Due to her having offspring, she'll have maternal instinct, which will make her want to protect them all that she is able to.

    In general, you're best disturbing her as little as possible for now, only giving her the food and water she needs and cleaning up any dog poop. Disturbing her more than is necessary could result in her attacking and hurting you - like biting or scratching - or cause her to abandon the puppies. Make sure you approach her slowly and on her level from the front. That way, it's less likely that she'll see you as a threat to the puppies.

    Hope this helps.

  • I think that all you could really do right now is to make sure she has food and water, and that she's taking care of her babies. The babies are probably still very young and she's being protective over them just like any mother would with their children in the first few weeks, months, or years. You could wait until she leaves the bedding and then change it without her knowing... But I think that she wants the bedding there because of scents.

  • Repeated AGAIN as you keep asking the same question.

    You should of known your dog so well that she would of let you hold them as soon as they were born, or even before if she needed a hand in whelping them.

    No dog that is this aggressive with her owners should of ever been allowed to even have pups. FACT.

    If her temperament is that bad then her pups will be also, and if they don't get used to being handled then they will not make suitable pets.

    You should of had her and her pups to the vets and you should be weighing the pups each day.

    You know your dog - we don't.

  • You need to be calm and gentle with her, show her you mean no harm

    Talk to her softly and approach her sideways, before her puppies I'm sure or I hope that you had some kind of control over her, like if she still grows at you just assertively say hey or stop

    That doesn't work try to get her out and stretch her legs

  • It depends on what breed she is because many dogs have different instincts... I think your dog just needs a little time trusting you with her new born.Give her some time. But continue to sit near her and talk to her and act as normal as possible. Hopefully she will start trusting you little by little. c;

  • Be like, Sparky (or whatever your dog's name is), I need you to calm down .. I'm just trying to put some bedding down for your puppies without getting bit.

    He/She would probably be like, Ruff Ruff - that actually means - Okay, thanks Snuggles (or whatever your name is).

    And then you just stick your hand (or whatever you wanna stick near the puppies), and place the bedding down.

  • She want to protect her babys. Just give her water & food don't change the bedding just yet.

  • That's her maternal instinct. She's protecting her babies. Leave her alone.
