bra problems :/ please help?

ok so i've worn a sports bra like ever since i've started wearing bras, im almost 15. I dont like sports bras becuz the thicker straps and the one i have with thin straps doesnt give me alot of support.

i want a regular bra but all the ones i try one make my boobs look big (bigger then i want them to look) it just looks fake like i stuff my self (eww) does anyone have any suggests or brands of regular bras that dont do that?? thanks so much!

  • I agree with another who said that you are probably not as big as you think. The reason is that a sports bra is very unflattering to the figure and offers little real support. The good supportive bras are lifting your breast and making them appear fuller. However if you are larger breasted you will need that support! I would also suggest a Victoria Secret bra but I would recommend the Body by Victoria line - they come with or without lining, are less expensive than the push-ups lines they carry, and offer excellent support for a larger breasted woman. (I prefer the full coverage style because it is more comfortable for a large breasted woman.) It is very important to be measured for a proper fit. When being measured, remember to wear the best fitting bra that you currently own and not a sports bra. I typically feel more supported and comfortable if I go up one cup size and down one band size from the size that they recommend to me. I have noticed that bras with wider shoulder straps feel better on the shoulders and back. Also, if there is more material in the side area (just below the armpit) the wires seem to poke less the elastic is not as bad to cut into your ribs.

Do not buy a cheap bra even if you don't buy at Victoria's Secret. There are many things in life in which the cheaper versions are just as good but a bra is simply not one of them. So plan to spend more than $20 and do try several of them on at the store. Once you find the one you like, wear it all day for a couple of days and if it is still comfortable go buy a couple more of the same style. That way you can rotate them, which helps them retain shape and support. Never put a good bra in the dryer (breaks down the elastic, bends wires, etc) and always hand wash or wash in a laundry bag.

Another option if you still think the bra makes you look too big or if you can't button shirts that would otherwise fit if not for your boobs, is to look for a minimizer bra. They basically flatten your chest (while still supporting and giving the appearance of 2 breasts not one big one like with a sports bra) but they are not usually comfortable and sometimes give you a weird square shape.

  • Just go buy some nice bras. I doubt your boobs are that big, no offence. They probably don't look fake, your probably just not used to that look.

Your breasts need support, and sports bras won't cut it. Gravity is pushing them down. If your bras aren't saggy now, they will be a few years down the road.

  • Maybe you're getting the wrong size? If you get a professional fitting and tell the sales associate what you are looking for, I'm sure you can find what you want. I would steer clear of Victoria's Secret and stick to stores like Macy's if you don't want sexy, cleavage-enhancing styles.

  • You can try wireless? They are still the same shape as an actual bra, but they won't give you unnecessary cleavage or anything

  • the reason the bras make it look like you stuff your self is probably because you dont have boobs.

well, at least boobs not big enough for a padded bra.

    go measure yourself.

  • just go look around the stores and im sure that calvin kein bras from nordstorm have some pad but they aren't like mega pad and they don't make your breast look fake

  • just look for ones that dont have a lot of padding and you probably want wireless cuz thats what pushes them up.

  • Victorias secret. but if that is too much do jcpenny bras i like theirs
