What makes the little displacement B16s or B18s SO powerfull, the B18 type R from Japan is rated at about 200 HP. Do they have VTEC on both camshafts??
The honda motors are well design. Most B motors carry Vtec and run high compersion. Vtec is ludes on the camshaft. To better explain this is likey the cam has two lubes after a certain rpm the second lube ingauges. And the guy saying the the B16B is the most expensive and highest hp for liter your wrong the K motors are the most expensive B16Bs cost $3800 and 120 per liter is the S200 F20C.

the b16 has lesser displacement then the b18. yes they do have vtec on both intake and exhaust cams
thats why the B16B Type R is the most expensive NA engines in the world. The HP/litre ratio is also higher than the engine installed on the 360 Modena.
