Acer Aspire x3950 PSU Upgrade?

Can anyone recommend a suitable more PSU I can upgrade my current 220W one with? Preferably a 300W / 350W or if possible 400W?

PC specs can be found here: http://www.acer.co.uk/ac/en/GB/content/model/PT.SE...

  • It looks like a standard size case so any ATX PSU will fit, depends on what you need it to do as to what size PSU you need. Ideally a 500w unit should be your minimum choice if wanting reasonable gaming machine, if choosing something with a more powerful GPU then you may need a better PSU.

Perhaps one of the best options is the Corsair Gamer series, good quality build, excellent stability under load and good value for money too.

  • The easiest way would be to measure the dimensions of the power supply, the Dimensions of an ATX power supply are 150 mm width, 86 mm height, and typically 140 mm depth. If so then any standard ATX will fit. choose a good quality branded version enermax coolermaster antec corsair XFX OCZ etc

  • to respond to your 20 or 24 pin question. on the outstanding hand area of the mummy board, seem for the super ability plug that is going into the motherboard. unhook this plug. you will see 2 rows of the two 10 or 12 pins. count type out what proportion you have entire. if it quite is 20 then you definately've a 20 pin if it quite is 24 then you definately've a 24 pin, yet it quite is probably no longer a subject on condition that maximum ability ingredients have a 20+4 pin connector to handle the two set ups. as far as getting a ability furnish with extra molex connectors, it quite is advantageous, yet you will quite be wanting to get a ability furnish with extra sata connectors. you may consistently chop up extra molex connectors off from their unique connector, there are lots of inexpensive adapters for this, yet you may no longer try this with a sata connector. seem for a stable 550 wat psu that has a minimum of four sata connectors and it will probable have approximately 6 molex connectors and probable the outstanding pci convey ability connectors. this might artwork ideally for you, it quite isn't any longer a super ability furnish, even though it might do each and everything mutually with a modest photos card. wish this facilitates

  • Seems like a atx psu so a corsair, thermaltake, coolermaster atx 400 watt will work for your pc , could get to your link but went to a different link to check out the specs

  • Hi,

By the look of that ase you should be able to fit any normal psu in there.

I would go for at least a 5oo watt version to allow for future upgrades.

As to which model, any good psu that is not a cheap one should do fine.
