how do i use a digital guitar tuner?
Hi, I'm new to playing the guitar, so can someone help me in using a digital guitar tuner? The digital tuner i have is a Fender Chromatic Tuner FT-100. And what do i tune it to?
Update:oh and also how do i know when it's in tune, i have 5 lights on the tuner, 4 of the lights are red and one is blue (the blue is in the center)

From the string closest to you (top of the guitar as you're looking down at it), the tuning is E, A, D, G, B, E....simply plug the guitar into the chromatic tuner and pluck the string, the tuner will give you a reading. Turn the tuning pin and continue plucking until you are in tune. Repeat for each string.
First, if you are playing an electric guitar, or an acoustic guitar with a pickup, plug the guitar into the tuner. If you are using an acoustic guitar without a pickup, place the tuner as close to the soundhole of the guitar as possible. Since you have a chromatic tuner, as long as your guitar is anywhere close to being in tune, the tuner will recognize the string you are playing. When playing a string, if the lights to the left of center light up, then the string is flat, or below pitch. Tighten the tuning peg until the light in the center lights up. If the lights to the right of center light up, that means the string is sharp, or above pitch. Loosen the tuning peg past where the center light lights up, and then tighten back to the center light on your tuner. Repeat this process for each string on your guitar.
