1989 evenrude 200 problems.?
when up on plane the motor runs great the water pump has a steady stream of water, but after about five-ten minuets it starts to miss and stutter like a cylinder is not fireing. i heard it could be electricle. i just would like to know of a few more possible things that could cause this problem so i can get an idea of what to look for.

it could be many different things
it could be a power pack breaking down
or a fuel delivery problem that is small enough that it take a little while to show up
you could have a cylynder that is loosing compression as it heats up.
the best thing to do is take it to a mechanic and have it checked out the can do the prosses of elimination alot faster and easier then you can without the right equipment.
if you want to do it yourself you will need a manual and a cdi meter, compression gauge, and an external fuel system.
thats soo crazy, my boat just has the same problem except its a 150 same year and everything. it was near the gas tank, the anti siphon tube. the engine wasnt getting enough fuel. im guessing when you pump the gas into the engine by the little ballon thing that gas only lasts that long and then its beggin for more and stutters and dies. i thought the same with the cylinders but no its all good and also on the right side of the motor standing from the back theres that little cylinder with a red knob on it, thats a cold engine start so first try pointing it up and run it then that gives it more gas. it wasnt much money to replace, like 30 bucks
that particular engine has a history of the magnets under the flywheel coming unglued. have you done a compression check? maybe water in the fuel?
