Laptop CPU temp.?
My brother has laptop with a AMDmobile sempron 1.6ghz cpu and the cpu temp is 145F-156f.Is that too hot?
Update:That is at idle the 145f is after the fan has been on.

that is about normal running temp.. you will find amd processors run hotter than intel. also intel celeron runs hotter than pentium ., nothing abnormal , just ensure none of the vent fan ports are blocked etc.. and you are fine.. you will enjoy the amd i am sure i am a big fan of AMD.. GOOD LUCK..
the straightforward answer is particular. Your laptop has a fan which pulls air around the "warmth sink" which in turn cools the processor. Laptops do get warm and in the event that they get too warm it is going to close down(bypass away it to relax off). make advantageous the vents are unfastened from dirt and sparkling of any obstructions i.e no longer against a wall or some thing. save the laptop on a flat floor, like a table and not utilising a table fabric as warmth is likewise dispersed from the undercarriage. in case you are able to save your hand on the undercarriage it is going to be ok, if it only approximately burns your hand attempt conserving it on a cool floor for the period of use, there is a great number of stone in India.
Hi. Laptop CPUs tend to run hot but that seems pretty close to the recommended limit. If the laptop is stable, though, then it's OK.
That processor specs are:
Min Operating Temperature 41 °F / 5 °C
Max Operating Temperature 95 °F / 35 °C
according to this search:

so it seems it's too hot. sometimes fans sieze on notebooks, you could try a cpu cooling software, here's a list: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?id=14
this site should have more about cooling: http://www.overclockers.com/links/index.asp
That's pretty warm. If it get's worse you should get a Thermal Event warning during boot up.
no thats fine ...
