Well, aren't some of these answers just HILARIOUS? It's okay to use unisex/boy names on girls but all hell breaks loose and he's a sissy boy if you give your son a unisex/girls name!
As an English surname, Dana is masculine.
As a Czech, Romanian, German, Bulgarian & Macedonian name, Dana is feminine.
In Bulgarian & Macedonian Dana is a short form/nick name for Bogdana, Yordana, or Gordana.
In Czech, Romanian & German Dana is the feminine form of Daniel.
In this case, it is 2/3 used for girld and 1/3 for boys. I know a guy named Dana who has never been teased. I don't think Dana is going to be any more teased than Everleigh or Ryder will. (actually, probably a lot less than Ryder which is very trendy at the moment.)
I say use it, but try to use a more strictly masculine middle name.
I wouldn't say it is a dumb name, but I just don't think of it as a boy name. Although, I believe it was originally a boy name, it is now more associated with girls. I think if you named your son this he probably would be teased in school. Hope I could help!

In today's world, yes. Dana use to be a boy's name until it was used by girls and now it's widely considered a girl's name.
He can always go by Dan or Danny it's up to you but Dana is typically a female name how about Daniel instead?
Not dumb, just different
He could ne teased but he could use dan as a nickname
Sry but yes ,,, "dana" is a girl name ,, i have like 6 girl friends who is name is dana
Pls don't even think about it cos it sounds dull 4 a guy
Given that it's traditionally masculine, I wouldn't call it dumb.
I can't imagine, though, that it'd be easy to grow up with.
Yes! Please don't do that!!!!. Dana is a very feminine namen unless you want your boy to be a homosexeual then go ahead.
