How do you know if a court officer is real?
Ok....so I'm really confused.....for two weeks, this random old guy keeps knocking at my door and trying to tell me to sign his papers for him?! And of course I wouldn't sign things that I'm not aware of. But whenever I ask him what it is, or why he's giving me the papers, all he says is "idek I'm a court officer, now please sign these papers from the court." But in my head, I'm like ummmm I don't have ANYTHING that is reference to the court. And whenever I tell him to mail it, he just denies it! Is he a real court officer? Cause all of this is new.....plus I have no reference to the court so why would he be delivering random documents for me and making me signed it!!!
Update:Now he has given me a 24 hours notice to call his cellphone number or else the court will press charges against me.....

court officers do NOT knock on your door, sheriffs do and they do not need your signature, did you ask what it is? tell him to tell the court you will not sign without a court order. it is like admitting you are guilty without due process. DO NOT SIGN IT
You don't have to be aware of anything connected to court. If you ask, he has to show you ID that identifies him as a court officer. I know of no civil process, at least in Arizona, that requires you to sign anything. I served a guy some divorce `papers once, and he said he wasn't accepting them. I touched his arm with the papers, then dropped them on the hood of his car, telling him he was served, and he'd better take them inside before the breeze let his neighbors know his business/
They normally deliver for signature and do not mail.
Stand at the door and read them so you know what's up.
Ask him what court then call them for confirmation.
