Name him whatever you want to name him...he won't care...my dog is Akiak and I like it...I couldn't care less if anyone else cares for it or not (she answers to it, and that's what matters)... ☺
I think Riley would be better because it's best to keep it short and sweet. It's easier for a dog or any animal for that matter to learn it's name when its shorter. But if you really want a long name try to also have a nickname to make it shorter.

Lots of dogs are named Riley. I've never yet heard of one named Mossberg...go for it!
I like 'Mr' Mossberg - lends an air of dignity to it, and you'll be sure you have the only mossberg on your block

Mossberg is good. My first Doberman was named Ruger.
