Is Diego Armando Maradona a good coach?

I find him to be one of the best coaches out there next to Dunga (of course and Parreira). He gives his players lots and lots of LOVE. You really don't see a coach every now and then jump on top of people hugging and kissing them. What do you think? (i think he has done a fine job with Argentina)

Who do you think is the BEST coach? and who is the WORST coach?

Update:

Whaa really Parreira took Brasil to many world cup triumphs

  • Best Coach: A tie between Dunga and Maradona. They're both great, and I love Maradona! He's crazy, and you can tell that he loves his team and that he's very proud of them.

Worst: Raymond Domenech....need I say more?

  • Maradona is a "players coach". He's not the most tactically astute manager in the world, but he instills belief in his players, which can sometimes go a long way.

It's quite difficult to name a BEST coach. The world cup only comes along every 4 years, so it might be easier to refer to club managers. Pep Guardiola of Barcelona, Alex Ferguson of Manchester United, and Jose Mourinho of Inter/Real Madrid all have winning formulas that have granted them quite a bit of success in the last few years.

I don't have an answer as to who the WORST coach might be. Raymond Domenech (France) must be a front runner though.

  • Of course he is. He was a legend player and now he is an excellent coach.

He really knows how to motivate his players.

MOTIVATION is the secret to the Argentinian success in 2010.

Without his excellent choice of words Argentina would be nothing.

But the wonderful things he say makes the players want to play and would sacrifice anything to kiss the world cup.

The best coach in my opinion is Maradona

The worst is the French one and Capello.

  • he seems to be one of the bests in WC2010

yeah he really does care about the games , have you seen how much he jumps or gets nervous ?!!! i s.t even start to laugh when he acts like that !

well i dont like Dunga so much for not picking ronaldinho , yeah isnt in his best time right now , but still is one of the bests and could made a difference in the team,, but he is still a great coach !

  • He is doing a great job with the players at the moment but how fast we forget how they almost failed to even qualify at all. Then he was seen as a laughing stalk of a manager, and it was the Argentinians trying to copy what the Germans did when they appointed Klinsmen to manage the team.

All that said I don't know how tactically strong he is, and so I wouldn't want him to manage my club but when it comes to getting the press to focus away from his team so that they can shine he has done that better then any English manager has been able to.

  • About Maradona

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PR_rzF8ofw

cocaine is a hell of a drug

Best Coach in the World cup: whoever wins

Worst Coach: Parreira, such a shame people believe that crook.

  • Whether he is good, or the team is making him look good is up for debate. But there can't be a doubt that his energy and love for the game has an impact on the players he coaches.

  • Venezuela must be happy since they might qualify since the drug user maradona is gonna be the coach. looks like argentina can say good bye to the world cup 2010

  • He got his team to the quarterfinal. So I guess he is good for now.

I like Chile's coach, Bielsa I think, even though his goalie made a blunder the other day. He's still pretty sharp to me.

Nobody can beat Domeneh for the worst - ever.

  • With the roster of Argentina a monkey could be a coach and still win!
