You cant. It all depends on your skin type. Ive seen people gain 80lbs and not have a single mark, yet Ive seen a woman gain 20lbs and had them all over. Its all up to your skin, no lotion or vitamin can prevent them. They may reduce the appearance of them, but thats all.

But I still got really bad stretch marks. When I was 8mos pregnant, my skin was streching so bad it started ripping and bleeding, however this doesn't normally happen. My sister used cocoa butter cream throughout her pergnancy and she doesn't have very many stretch marks. The main thing that determines whether or not you will have stretch marks is the elasticity of your skin. The younger you are, the more elasticity your skin has.
Stretch marks aren't what you should be fearing about pregnancy. I would fear the morning sickness, the up in the middle of the night trips to the bathroom, the baby dropping, the hips spreading, the feeling of pain constantly the last few months, the inability to sleep comfortably the last few months....and lots more things. Oh, and then when the baby is born, you won't get to sleep through a night for about 6mos minimum. Hun, I think stretch marks are the least of your worries. You can always get plastic surgery or laser surgery if it is really bad and bothers you that much.

You could not get one while pregnant and end up covered a year later. They keep developing as you go on. I got em I'm no gonna worry about it anymore. They will come no matter what I do. I got Palmers stretch mark cream stll got stretch marks. I started getting them on my boobs first around probably 5 months. Now I'm 36 weeks got em on my boobs inner thighs lower belly and sides. They aren't really big but noticeble. Pretty much they will fade and if you tan they will blend after your pregnancy. Don;'t try tanning now. Though I tanned twice before I knew.
I tried cocoa butter, vitamin E cream, baby oil...nothing worked for me...although I walked around for a long time smelling like cocoa or baby oil and had really soft skin...lol...
I got them really bad, from my knees to my belly button. I even got them on my boobs (sorry for getting so personal).
I would just not gain excessive weight and let nature take it's course. I was afraid of stretch marks too...but now, 3 months after I gave birth, I look at them as a product of a beautiful thing..my lovely daughter.
If I had the choice of turning back time, I wouldn't change a thing.

It's hereditary. If you're mother has them, then you are most likely to get them, HOWEVER, it's been proven that if you stay well hydrated (drink lots and lots of water) the stretch marks will be less noticeable if there at all. Coacoa butter and shay butter do help but not a 100% remedy.
you cant prevent stretch marks because during pregnacy the skin to stretch. The effect of this stretching depends on your skin type. however, it can be minimise. cocoa butter creams are good or even creams with vitamin E helps. i will suggest Shea butter if you have used cocoa butter and is not seeing much result. the shea butter is oily, it softens and prevents dryness. Use any of these creams as frequently as you can and the effect of stretch marks will be mimimised.
I slathered this on every day after my shower--it made me shiny and greasy, but it's worth it. At night before bed, I slathered on the Cetaphil body cream. Don't forget your butt--they get stretch marks too.
I managed to avoid stretch marks this way, even after gaining 45 lbs and being prone to them. I did forget my butt though, so I have some there--don't make the same mistake...
L.O.L Oh my gosh!I worried about the same thing when i first found out o was pregnant,now i'm 8 months pregnant and unfortunately..GOT EM!There's no way to prevent them,i tried everything,even cocoa butter up until now and i don't see any of them going away,oh well,i won't have anybody looking at my tummy.Is all up to your skin.

Use Vitamin E oil twice a day and start as soon as possible also keep using it for 2 months after delivery.
