Transfer to a UC?

I'm 27 and have B.S in Electronics. I came to US seven month ago, and I wanna study business. Is it better to prepare for GMAT and go to a state university? or start college with primary goal of transfer to a UC? (and forget the B.S that I have!)

  • Hey,

First of all I think only 2 UCs have business programs-- Berkeley (good luck with that!) and *I think* Irvine.

If I were you I would go to a Community College then a CSU, work hard, pay less, and build on the skills that you already have.

My mom took CC accounting classes when I was a little kid, transfered to a CSU, graduated when I was about 10, and now I'm 16 and She makes more than she ever would have imagined. It really proves that college is what you put into it. It doesn't matter whether you go to a prestigious school or not (especially for business) because your education is defined by your work ethic. Do the thing that financially suits you.

Overall, don't forget your education that you already have because the combination of a business degree and a more scientific degree can mean big bucks. Most people are good at one or the other-- but rarely both. You'd be an asset!

    Good luck!

  • Go for a primary education, start over

But if u want business go to Pepperdine, it is more expensive but their campus is beautiful and their business program is terrific. Best advertising school in the country, hands down
