tick box in yahoo mail has problems?

When I am using Firefox to access my yahoo mail, the tick boxes is not a box but shows some kind of symbol. As a result I cannot do things like delete mass spam mail by just ticking the head box.

This doesn't occur when I am use the Chrome browser to access my mail.

I am using the latest version of firefox and have tried everything but to no avail.

Please help.
