How do you describe a male character?
I'm writing a book and finding it difficult to describe this male character (he's about 22) without sounding perverted. What is making it harder is the fact that I'm writing the book in 1st person and he is the main characters cousin. I need to describe him and what he is wearing. I want him to be in all the latest fashion and really fit and hot as he is a famous singer in the book.

Unless you want to imply that his cousin is attracted to him, do NOT use any empty adjectives like "beautiful" or "fit" or any variation of what _you_ consider him to look like. I'm sorry, but if you do the reader will think that even if it's not intended.
You could describe his fashion if your character would notice that. Nothing perverted about that as long as she doesn't start going into, "That shirt really shows off your abs!"
If he's a famous singer, why not have the character talk to a fan (or recall a conversation with a fan, or a magazine article about him or something), and find it odd that they think he's so attractive when to her, he's the child who used to run around the garden with his pants on his head? You can show that he's good looking without the character telling us.
I made my way back stage and finally located my cousin. He looked much different dressed for the stage. He looked like any other rock star. His hair professionally cut and styled, his clothes top of the line looked to selected and cut for his trim frame. His shoes, brand name. His jacket hung in a way to give him more muscle definition that I know he didn't have. Just the past weekend we'd been swimming in the pool, I'd beaten him by two strokes. He knew he needed to work out more in the gym and less with a microphone. "Hey!" I shouted when a guard grabbed me, "I'm his cousin."
"Yeah right and I'm Santa Claus."
"No Claus, she really is my cousin." He grinned his green eyes twinkling down at me from his 5 for 10 in height. "My really annoying bratty cousin."
I hauled off and punched him in the arm. His highlighted blond hair fell artfully over his made up face, "You are so going to be in trouble."
All the descriptive information given and a bit about how close they are thrown in.

It's very simple. What singer do you really like? Pull him up on Google Images and check him out. It's a great way to get the latest fashion, and even the type of hairstyle. You can change the colors of clothes, eyes, hair, etc... Why rack your brain?

Try to describe him just the same as you'd describe a female character. If you're afraid to sound perverted, just leave out all the bits where she marvels at his gorgousness. Imagine him in your mind, then describe exactly what you see. For example: He was tall, and he was definitely handsome. No way to deny that, even if he's my cousin. One could not escape staring at him. He wore dark Diesel jeans and a tightly fitted John Varvatos shirt. The leather jacket he'd lazily thrown over his shoulders was black and looked like it had cost more than I would ever be able to earn. etcetc.

Just describe his penis and balls and taint. And maybe a**hole. However, if he is a fat guy then describe his chode. But remember the taint. Remember the taint............. Hope this helps :]
