my friend told me that when u get braces that they have to clog up where u swallow so ur teeth's not moist Does this hurt????

They don't clog that up. They just put this huge thing in your mouth to keep it open. It feels kinda uncomfortable, but it doesn't exactly hurt.

omg that is not true at all! trust me i have braces and that is not true and most all my friends have them too and their dentist didnt do that either, all they do it put in this little tube thats like the width of an antenna between your teeth and cheeck to suck up the moisture it doesnt hurt it just makes your mouth dry,, and its impossible to clog up where you swallow anyway-- your friend was probably just making that up to scare you, but as i said before its not true! trust me i have braces and dont be scared or anything because they dont hurt at all when you get them on, the cememt to stick the brackets to your teeth just smells& tastes kinda sour- but after the first few days you have them on your whole mouth will hurt, so for that pain just use ice and take and tylonel or advil!

The don't put a thing to clog up where u swallow. They just put this thing around ur mouth to keep ur mouth open and ask u to breath through ur nose so ur teeth don't get wet with saliva :]
omgoodness thts not true at all! i have braces right now. wht happens is tht they but a little bit of glue on ur teeth, then they put on the bracet as they alwayz do! , but it doesnt hurt! it hurts for about 2 or 2 1/2 days but thts all. after u have them for awhile I forget i have them cuase they feel normal. i have never herd of wht ur friend told u, ur friend is prob. just screwing w/ u! good luck w/ braces and after like 3, 4 days u dont feel a thing!!!
Well I have them now top and bottom you don't get them on at one time. You might get your top first and then your bottoms depending on what your orthadotist decides to do. They just put this thing in your mouth that holds your mouth open and it is uncomfortable but doesn't hurt. Don't worry about getting braces because it isn't the end of the world. Just think about after you get them off what a pretty smile you will have after you get them off. Hope this helps!!!

And you get used to hte pain after a while
But I don't really know, it depends on what dentist you go to

no it doesnt hurt. I happen to have braces and the dentist doesnt often rinse your mouth out or clog it. It doesnt hurt it just feels uncomfortable.
i had braces when i was younger and they actually weren't that bad. it certainly didnt hurt when they were putting them on. for a week or so after it though my mouth did hurt quite a bit. but i just took pain relievers and it was all better

nah they just stick this thing in ur mouth so they make it really big and then they us this gaus thing and pad the spots that are moist.
