Paralegal jobs, how do you find them?

I'm thinking of taking a paralegal course and becoming a licensed paralegal. My question is, how do you actually get a job in that after you finish the course? I've never seen paralegal jobs listed on websites, but I keep reading that it is a fast-growing field. Do you just send in resumes to attorneys?

  • You have to learn to network well. It is who you know not what you know that sometimes gets you the job. Education is essential though. Search high and low for job postings, and apply for each one you qualify for. Go in person to some law firms, and express interest. Go to your courthouse, and speak with someone. Paralegal jobs are hard to come by. Many law school graduates are currently working as paralegals.

  • I know nobody ever want to say this....but paralegals are whores for lawyers. There's a reason why they are mostly women...and hott. Get your education, then go stand outside and wait for lawyer...and do what needs to be done.

  • Try looking in your local paper in the classfied section under employment.

A way to get your foot in the door is to go through a legal temp agency...
