  • Petrol removes tar

    .

  • i have always used petrol soaked in an old rag.in the past and have never had any problem removing tar. you can also buy tar remover in any good car or hardware shop ,also any car valeting company would do it for you. try WD40 or 3 in 1 oil. best of luck.

  • the parts store has a paste something like wax called rubbing compound. It is for removing scratches and bugs and stuff like tar. it takes a little elbow grease but will work. I have also heard of the wd-40 trick but never tried it.

  • Any "Bug and Tar Remover" product available at an auto parts store works, but check out Maquire's Bug and Tar product and online video while your at it:

  • Best thing to use on things like tar is a chemical called TFR (traffic film remover). You can by it from your local car sales, brilliant stuff, highly recommended

  • use kerosene or diesel to mop off the tar and then wash with car shampoo.

If still stubborn marks are there, pls use metalic paint wax to polish the area..

do not use thinner, petrol or turpentine.this solvents will damage your paint work.

  • sorry, i'm notably particular DOT won't conceal it. Do you have complete insurance? could pay for component of a sparkling paint job? with a bit of luck somebody has a magic answer for you that gets the tar out...i don't understand of any.

  • Basically you need a solvent to soften it. A pro would use thinners, but that's probably a bit too much in this case. WD-40 will do it, or lighter fluid.

  • I've used gasoline for years and have never had a problem, just make sure you wax the surface that you used the gas on as it will take the old wax off.

  • auto glym provides an intensive tar remover which you can buy from any car supply store like motor world, halfords or road user.stain devil also do a range which you can buy from super markets
