Technical, Myspace, IP address, HELP?
I want to prove someone created a fake profile.
My plan originally was that I had a tracker that detected IP addresses, and that if both profiles had the same IP address, it would mean it's the same person.
My problem, though, is that the person who created the possibly fake myspace profile is the roommate of said fake profile owner (confused??) sooo if they live in the same house, but own different computers, the IP address would be the same. I tested this on my computer and my roommates, and yes, we did have the same IP address.
I guess internet knows where to send info by the MAC of each computer, correct?
Soo.. by my reasoning.. I can't figure out the fake profile using the means I have now. right?
Any suggestions?

not exactly, actually they use NAT or network address translation, which makes it just as hopeless but in a totally different way:-)
