car radio problem no power?

hello a friend of mine was fotting a cd player in his car when he let one of the wires touch the metal casing of the cd player there was a spark and now the cd player wont work and all the wires are correctly done....did it blowa fuse....??

  • Theres also a fuse inside the head unit itself.

  • Get a multimeter, or a circuit tester light, and see if there's 12 volts going to the radio. If there is, I'd say it's a fair bet the radio is toast.

  • it's either blown an in line fuse or one in the fuse box. look to see if you have lost power to anything else, ie cig lighter/ interior light etc. if you have, go to the fuse box. if not look for an in line fuse. good luck.

  • yes u probably did. check the fuse box in your car, or maybe on the back of the deck.replace it and hopefully it works. good luck

  • yeah its either under the hood (the 12v fuse) or somewheres in the fuse pannels inside the car (accessory fuse)
