Associates degree?

So how does associates degree works? Do I get it after 60 credits automatically? I have been going to school online for bachelors in communication studies where I earned some credits and now transferred to a different school for bachelors in accounting. My school doesn't offer associates degree but what if I meet all the requirement to get an associates degree credits wise how do I officially get it? Or how does it work?

  • If your school doesn't offer an AA, you aren't meeting the requirement to earn one. You can't earn one if it's not offered. If you transferred to a school that does offer an AA (like a community college), you would have to earn a specific number of "resident credits" at your new school. My CC requires students to earn at least 25 credits at our school; they could transfer in the rest.

  • To get an associate's degree, you attend a school that offers associate's degrees, get into a program for a specific associate's degree, complete all the requirements, and apply for graduation.

  • You can only get an associates if your school grants associates degrees, and if you fulfill all the requirements to get one. So if your current school doesn't offer associates degrees, you can't get one from them.
