Dog with no appetite?
Well we have known that our dog has been getting sick for a while, and yes, we did take her to the vet, that's how we knew she was sick. The vet said that, in simple terms, had numerous tumors in her lungs and might not last very much longer. She has started coughing a lot (a symptom they said she would show) and now she has begun to loose her appetite. She will not eat any dry food whatsoever and will only eat a small amount of canned dog food. Now we are giving her a can of precooked chicken once a day and she doesn't even finish that. I am afraid that she isn't getting enough food but I don't know what to feed her. Any suggestions? I know there are certain things you shouldn't feed your dog a lot of, like cheese, but I'm getting desperate. I need some help!

Dogs can go a week without food, so if she is eating a small amount everyday she'll be fine. Dogs are pretty tough they don't show us the pain they have unless it's really unbearable. But if you can get surgery done, do it!!! I take my dog to the vet as soon as any new symptoms or behavior appear. My dog had like a mole growing on his face, it's tiny as but I went to the vet anyway, after all it's my responsibility as an animal owner to look after it best I can.
How old is she by the way????
I'm sorry to say but if your dog is suffering you need to take her back to the vet and her her put to sleep it's cruel to let her suffer. I know it hurt's, and it's the toughest thing to do we have had to do that with 3 dogs and one cat over the last 5 years all were older 15+. She is going to have a tough time breathing and it will be very uncomfortable for her to breath with the tumors in there. Just remember to be strong and think about her quality of life. I have found it easier not to setup appointments maybe see if the vet will allow you to bring her in when she is ready.
Sorry to hear this
I hope that she starts to eat and gets to feeling better!!! You can give her some turkey, chicken, ect. from the deli. Make sure it is sliced up good. Give your dog as many treats as she will take. If cheese is all she will eat I suggest not giving her too much because she will get really sick if that is all she eats. Some pet stores have flavored dressing to put on top of dry dog food. I would try that just to see if she will eat it because that would be the easiest thing to give her. You can always give her warm boneless chicken and other meats. Try not to feed her junk food like fries and stuff just meats. Give her wet dog food for every meal if that is all she will eat. Good luck! I hope she will begin to eat!!
It's sad to say, but it seems like it is time to start thinking about letting her go. It is probably painful for her to eat, and she could even have tumors in your stomach now, which wouldn't leave much room for food.
My advice is to talk to your vet and find out where to go from here. Only he/she can tell you what is best for your dog at this point.

When a dog is very ill, not eating and there is no cure, one has to make the difficult decision of saying *yes* to the vet to have them put to sleep gently.
