Paranormal Activity 2, Seriously Dude?
I thought the first one was LAME. Lame. The story was good and everything, my problem wasn't there, and also it's not that I don't believe in the paranormal, that sh** is real. It's just.. I dunno. There was a lot that i liked, for example, the new-ish style of the camera in the room, and the no-credits thing, that was good for suspense. They did a lot right. The reason I didn't like it was that they tried to make it feel realistic, and then they did the total opposite. They put the sand or whatever on the floor and there's like generic monster footsteps, and especially the (theatrical) ending, stuff like that. At the end, the chick just happens to shove Micah straight at the camera, and it falls, but the lens isn't cracked or anything. In fact, it's even at an angle so you can see the room. Then she walks in and stares at you and... eats the f***ing camera. I was like, "seriously dude?" (hence the question). You want me to believe this could have happened and then she EATS THE CAMERA?? It was wwwwaaaaayyyyyy too obvious that they purposely made certain things happen, which totally ruined the scary-vibe I was getting for some of the movie. I still got some value out of it, and most of my friends thought it was the scariest thing ever, but... those little things just threw the whole thing off (although eating the camera is a little more than a "little thing"). So my question is, if I go see Paranormal Activity 2, am I gonna say "seriously dude?" at the end? So far I know Katie's in it and it's a prequel. Everyone's saying it's better than the first, but everyone is the same everyone that said the first was so great. I don't know if anyone else feels like I do about it, so I don't know if I should even ask this. But here we are, I guess. Sooo. Does this one have any of those moments that throw it all off? I really want to go see it but am I wasting my time? PLEASE TELL ME, INTERNET!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and by the way, if it helps at all, I like the psychological stuff a lot. For example, Saw. Haven't seen the last one yet though. Also I watched the following movies with a smile (which happens a lot, horror movies are usually funny for a few of my friends and I because of how ridiculous they can be) -- The Grudge, The Ring, One Missed Call, The Hills Have Eyes (probably the funniest, I mean, hillbilly zombies freaking everyone out and then hillbilly zombies getting their asses kicked? Awesome. I could honestly say I liked it, but for the wrong reasons), The Decsent, The Ruins (how did that one even get made? Several people had to say "yes, this is a good idea, make this movie." It's literally about a plant killing people.), and all of those hyped-up ones. If it helps at all for you to understand my tastes.
Update:Ohhh yeah it's all American re-makes. I've heard REC is good, is Quarantine the American version of that?

ONE WORD ...EPIC!
I saw Paranormal Activity 2 and yes it's better than the first but I wouldn't say either were the 'scariest thing I ever saw'. They are good films though. And correction, she doesn't eat the camera, she goes for Mica and grins at the camera - at least get it right. The ending will make you laugh probably (just one bit, you can't help it) but believe me when I say there is powerful tension where you honestly are sat there thinking 'something's going to happen...or is it?' It's great
The films you laughed at I'm guessing were remakes because you can never beat their originals - the japanese know their horror. And Hills Have Eyes aren't hillybilly zombies, they're normal people that lived on a nuclear testing site which made them mutated/ deformed. If you want a sh*t plant film then watch The Happening, I guarantee it'll make The Ruins look absolutely genius lol Judging from your taste I'd say you need to find films that possibly aren't hyped so much (look into different countries for horror; Spanish; .Rec/ .Rec 2/ The Orphanage...Japanese; One Missed Call; The Ring; Sick Nurses and French; 7 Days though it's more torture thriller than horror)
Well... I'm type of detest to place the spoilers on this on account that others could now not desire to peer them. Oh good... SPOILERS BELOW!!!! The movie takes position a couple of months earlier than the parties of the primary movie & follows Katie's sister. They had a few type of bizarre holiday in & therefore, they movie the whole lot. It rapidly turns into visible that some thing demonic is going on as bizarre stuff occurs, so much of it surrounding the youngster Hunter. As matters enhance persons begin death & through the finishing of the film it catches up with the whole lot that has been occurring with Katie because the viewers sees her entering the condominium & kidnapping the youngster. (Why does she desire him? Well, supposedly any person of their loved ones made an contract with a demon for wealth & vigor so long as the demon will get the following son born into the loved ones, that is Hunter.) Want extra information? Watch the film.
Those movies suck and you have no life for honest to god sitting down and writing all that about a shitty B movie.
